ORAL LANGUAGE underpins written language. It is important for students to listen and speak in order to develop language.
LISTENING and SPEAKING resources have a selection of language experience activities which identify purpose, context and skills.
The resources are grouped into SOCIAL INTERACTION, LITERACY INTERACTION, and THINKING INTERACTION. These experiences engage students, give them opportunities to practise oral language and link their learning to reading and writing.
SMART RESOURCE | A set of twenty-five question cards for students to answer about 2D shapes. The resource is suitable for oral language and can be played using Kagan Structure- Quiz, Quiz, Trade (instruction card included). SMART RESOURCE | This resource show times when it is appropriate to be relaxed or careful in speaking. These are followed by discussion activity cards asking When What How do we speak to the character on the card?
Charts outlining roles each student takes in a small group. The resource also includes verbal prompts the student would use in each role. To assist with the group organisation there is a set of small role cards with a brief job description.
