SPEAKING and LISTENING

Two men standing together the man dressed in a red suit is talking, he has a speech bubble above him and the other man dressed in a green suit is listening

ORAL LANGUAGE underpins written language. It is important for students to listen and speak in order to develop language.

LISTENING  and SPEAKING resources have a selection of language experience activities which identify purpose, context and skills.

The resources are grouped into SOCIAL INTERACTION, LITERACY INTERACTION, and THINKING INTERACTION. These experiences engage students, give them opportunities to practise oral language and link their learning to reading and writing.
