SMART RESOURCE | The two sets of thirty-eight Diwali Festival words are presented in different fonts and backgrounds. The resource is suitable for Diwali discussion, reading, writing and word wall displays. The words make an excellent starting point for inquiry-based research learning. The vocabulary links with the Diwali Festival of Lights Annual Resources.

SMART RESOURCE | During the Festival of Diwali people decorate their doorways with rangoli patterns. An explanation with illustrations of the rangoli pattern and its significance to the Diwali celebration is included.This resource has a selection of six rangoli patterns to colour and two coloured patterns to cut out for display. Students could also design their own patterns using the ABC Video Link page for motivation and visual instruction.

FREE | A choice of a colour or black and white card template for students to write a personal ‘Happy New Year’ Diwali greeting. Brainstorm writing prompts for younger students, while older students can plan the layout of the card, write the message; choose their writing style and decorate the card.
