Beginning to recognise the letters of the alphabet and the formation of each letter is an essential task for the student when learning to read and write. The colour resource is an excellent first step in this process. Each lowercase letter has a starting point and a directional arrow to assist with the correct writing of the letter. Illustrations help the student to make letter-sound associations. Students are invited to draw extra pictures associated with the letter and independently practice the letter formation on the same sheet.
