SMART RESOURCE | Basic sight words are essential for reading and writing. Repetition is the key to sight word learning. Games are a hands on and fun way to help students to strengthen their visual memory. The 101 sight words bingo includes five game cards with nine words on each card. The call card words are distinguished by the colour orange. Also included is a learning intention card and an ‘I can read these words’ list for assessment. The resource is an excellent daily activity for the classroom Reading and Writing Management board.

PREMIUM RESOURCE | FONT OPTION: The Dolch word charts feature colourful illustrations. The illustration can be used as a visual marker to help students to remember a word. Create a strong visual marker by forming a caption or a simple sentence about the illustration which includes the Dolch word… for example: ‘after lunch…’The marker will help students to memorize the printed high frequency word so they can automatically read it without a need to decode. This excellent learning resource makes a wonderful word wall display, flip chart, an individual ‘Word of the Day ‘student placemat or student book.

Students should be encouraged to find the list words in their environment as well as using them in their reading and writing.
